Player Ratings (out of 10)
Brad Guzan, 8 - Not asked to do much but showed nicely when he needed to come out to grab the ball.
Timmy Chandler, 5 - Great assist on the first US goal with the cross to Dempsey. Other than that, there were his typical poor give aways and a week foul right before half. Still not good enough to be everyday RB. Subbed off at half for Brad Evans.
Ventura Alvardo, 6 - Not pressured much. Some tired defending late but overall it was a setup from what he has shown thus far in the Gold Cup.
Omar Gonzalez, 7 - Scored his first goal as a USMNT member off a corner showing good awareness. Solid defensively, some careless giveaways but much butter showing from a backline against a Cuban side that was not looking to be aggressive.
Fabian Johnson, 7 - Great assist on the Zardes goal. Looked to get forward in the first half, needed better connection with Bedoya but looked dangerous. Quiet second half before being subbed off for Yedlin.
Gyasi Zardes, 6 - Starting at RM made a great run to score in the 15th minute. Made some really nice runs throughout the game. Needed a better touch on some plays but overall good game for the Galaxy forward.
Kyle Beckerman, 6 - Solid on defense. Great long ball to Bedoya. Subbed off at halftime for Corona.
Michael Bradley, 8 - Great game from the captain. Several nice long balls and assists. Came close to scoring himself. Cuba game him time and he made them pay. Controlled the game nicely.
Alejandro Bedoya, 7 - Solid game. Grade could have been even higher. Made some really nice runs but could not get his cross off several times. Played solid defense after switching to LB after Yedlin came on for F. Johnson.
Clint Dempsey, 9 - Hat Trick! Great game from the US forward. Again showing his finishing skills and being dangerous up top.
Aron Johansson, 7 - Great chip shot goal after a well timed run. Could have scored multiple more times but his touch let him down. Showed movement and connections with Bradley and Dempsey which will be key to the US moving forward.
Brad Evans, 7 - Proved his defensive presence and passing ability going forward.
Joe Corona, 6 - Newest member of the Gold Cup squad did well defensively in filling in for Beckerman in the final 45.
DeAndre Yedlin, 6 - As usual showed his great pace and willingness to challenge defenders. Final ball was lacking several times which he needs to improve.
